TireSaver
Parker TireSaver is a Nitrogen Tire Inflation System. TireSaver is designed to be installed in tire shops, fleet and vehicle maintenance facilities, and on mobile service trucks. TireSaver safely and economically produces high purity dry Nitrogen from ordinary compressed air.
Inflating tires with Nitrogen provides a number of benefits.
- Inflating with Nitrogen lowers Oxygen and water content inside the tire.
- Eliminating water inside the tire eliminates rim corrosion, valve problems, valve freeze-ups, and damage to pressure indication devices (cat-eyes)
- Eliminating Oxygen slows or stops chemical aging of the tire rubber.
- Eliminating water and oxygen reduces tire inflation pressure loss. Oxygen and water migrate through the tire casing 3 to 4 times faster than Nitrogen. Better inflation retention means longer tire casing life, longer tread life, and better fuel economy. Underinflated tires result in 640 million litres of fuel being wasted in Canada each year.
- Inflating with nitrogen reduces pressure fluctuation with temperature changes. Water vapour absorbs a lot of heat and causes air filled tires to expand and contract much more than nitrogen inflated tires.
- Eliminating water reduces wheel corrosion, which means less maintenance cost.
- Proper inflation extends tread life, which means lower capital cost of tires and retreads.
